for his lifetime of research and writing that communicates to broader audiences an understanding of both the current social fabric of American society, and possibilities for a more equitable future

The Robert Dentler Award for Outstanding Student Achievement is presented to

Amanda L. Freeman

Department of Sociology, Boston College for her exceptional research and writing on the challenges facing low-income, single mother-headed families, and her communication of sociological research and its policy implications to broader audiences

The Robert Dentler Award for Outstanding Student Achievement is presented to

David M. Ciplet

Department of Sociology, Brown University for his broad-ranging research and writing on, and engagement in, local and global networks addressing inequities in climate change impact and policies.
