Each year at the American Sociological Association (ASA) Meetings, the Sociological Practice and Public Sociology Section (SPPS) endeavors to share our practices and insights with other sociologists through paper sessions, round table discussions, and a variety of workshops. Our members also attend a variety of regional and topical meetings throughout the year.

2018 ASA Annual Meeting

The 113th Annual Meeting will be held August 11–14, 2018 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Submissions are now being accepted to the 2018 Annual Meeting. Questions may be directed to ASA Meeting Services. ASA is now accepting paper and other proposal submissions for the 2018 Annual Meeting, Please visit the Call for Submissions information page to learn more about the opportunities available. The deadline to submit is January 11, 2018 at 11:59 pm.

The SPPS section is also supporting the “Sociology in Practice Settings Symposium” occurring before or after the 2018 ASA meeting.  More information will be added when available.  See also ASA’s site for this symposium.

The ASA program is developed more than a year in advance. To organize a session or workshop for the 2019 or 2010 ASA meetings, contact the Section Chair or visit the 2019 ASA website for more information.
